Meet Your Physician
Dr. Galit Steinberg
I’m Dr. Galit Steinberg, and I’d love to share a bit about myself with you. I’m a first-generation American, born in the Bronx and raised in Rockland County, NY. With a nurse for a mother, I was inspired from a young age to follow in her footsteps and pursue a career in medicine. Helping people, just like she did, has always been my dream.
I attended Ross University School of Medicine and completed my Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at North Shore University Hospital, where I was proud to serve as chief resident and earn multiple teaching awards. My journey then led me to Columbia Presbyterian in NYC, where I had the incredible privilege of delivering thousands of babies and teaching residents throughout their four-year Ob/Gyn residency.
Later, I joined Englewood Hospital in NJ, where I focused on gynecology and Functional Medicine, treating women from their teenage years through their 90s and helping both men and women optimize their health. With over 19 years of experience, though I may feel like I’ve seen it all, I’m always ready for a new challenge and eager to keep learning.
My passion for Integrative Health began in my late teens/early 20s, and I’ve been dedicated to it ever since. Watching friends, family, and patients struggle with undiagnosed medical issues fueled my mission to help them improve their overall health. This led me to study Functional and Lifestyle Medicine, and I firmly believe that we never stop learning. Our body is our most valuable asset, and how we care for it determines our lifespan and quality of life. As life expectancy increases, we must ensure our brains stay sharp and our bodies stay nimble so we can continue enjoying what we love.
I live in Bergen County, NJ with my wonderful husband and three amazing children. We love staying active and doing anything outdoorsy or music related. You’ll often find me practicing yoga and Pilates, playing pickleball, swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, walking/running, biking, and dancing/singing. I also enjoy cooking new, healthy recipes and teaching my kids how to live a healthy life. And let’s not forget the importance of laughter—it’s the best medicine!
Being a physician fulfills me deeply, but my most rewarding job will always be being a mom. I’m fluent in English, Hebrew, Polish, and Spanish.
It is my privilege to care for you and your family. I endeavor to create a comforting space where my patients can truly feel seen and heard, allowing them to improve both mind and body. I believe in practicing medicine as the art it was meant to be.
I look forward to guiding you to feel your best!
Warmly,
Dr. Galit Steinberg
